GIT going off the rails I did say in my first editorial that exams would force me to take a break from producing GIT in the spring months; knowing how understanding you all are I'm sure you can accept my decision to prioritise revision ahead of subzine production. I have decided though to try and carry on with reduced service during the work-laden months; no or minimal editorials, but games at full speed. Happily, to fill in the potential editorial gap I have enlisted the help of Simon Hornby, who will be producing Train as part of G.I.T. (in fact whatever GIT stood for before, it now stands for GIT Including Train). I hope you're going to give Simon an excellent mark in the Sub-Sub-Zine Poll that I intend to run later in the year. /---------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | TRAIN issue A. Conductor:Simon Hornby, 41 Larkin Close, Cambridge CB4 2ER | \---------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Yes, it's here, what you've all been waiting for, TRAIN! Well, you would have been waiting for it if you knew it was coming. It's the all new sub-sub zine for OMR/GIT. This first issue (Issue A) is of neccesity short, due both to short deadlines and nagging editors (Chris). Also, I haven't yet got any games to run, so this is going to consist of an intoductory editorial (what you're reading), and a waiting list. I'm also going to be looking for an outside GM to run one of the games, to take some of the work off my shoulders. Since we haven't had a game of SoD for a few months, and I have some revenge to take for the last one Stretchy ran, that is what I will want an outside GM to run. Waiting Lists: Welcome to the TRAIN waiting list. Currently we have room for 6 players to play a Monopoly variant that I haven't thought of a name for yet. It starts like normal monopoly, but includes many special features, like Helicopters, anti-aircraft guns, channel tunnels, earthquakes and other fun things. Rules will be published next issue, assuming there is any interest shown. As a special bonus, once the rules are published, whichever player suggest the most appropriate name for the variant will receive a starting bonus of 200 pounds (In Monopoly money of course!). The second game has an unlimited number of spaces, and is going to be a game of Killer, or as some people call it, Assassins. Thanks to Huddo for the idea, during a drunken revel at Dave Percik's 21st party. In fact, the whole idea of TRAIN was conceived there. It's going to be a single elimination game, with multiple assigned targets, and retaliation rules. Once I have enough people to play, this game will also start. Well, that's all for this issue. If I get letters, I will print a lettercolumn, but under no circumstances will I stoop to Parish levels and print political discussion as found in TURBO... Get your names on the waiting lists, and thanks to Chris for the space. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can send your correspondence to Simon directly, or e-mail him at simon.hornby@elmail.co.uk . Actually, you could send stuff for both of us to me and I'll e-mail it on to him, if you like. If you trusted him with your orders for my games you could pass them to him, and he'd e-mail them to me. That'd work just as well. Ah, the joys of e-mail! G.I.T. Including Train is copyright 1997 Are-We-Taking-The-Piss-Well-What- Do-You-Think Productions. The authors assert their moral rights.
