[Train B continued. Lumme, Simon said it'd only ever be one side long. Oops...] 11) Special powers. a) The Tank. A Tank can be purchased for 2000 pounds. It has the ability to destroy any buildings in the square it lands on. This is automatic unless specified otherwise. You will still have to pay the normal site rent in 'parking charges'. b) The Anti-Tank gun. 1000 pounds. Allows the destruction of an attacking tank. If the tank does not exercise it's option to destroy the buildings, it cannot in return be destroyed by the AT-Gun. If the AT-Gun destroys the Tank, the buidlings are still destroyed. c) The helicopter. 2000 pounds. Allows movement around the board without 'landing' on a square, thus avoiding rent. Ignores AT-Guns and Tanks. d) The Anti-Aircraft Gun. 1500 pounds. The AA-Gun has only one purpose, to shoot down helicopters. If a helicopter is shot down, the player owning it must pay rent for that square. e) The Earthquake. One of the Chance cards (Make General repairs on all of your houses. Houses 40 pounds, hotels 125 pounds) is removed and replaced with an earthquake card. All buildings belonging to any player, are destroyed. f) The Tunnel. 2 adjacent stations can be linked together as follows: Kings cross to Marylebone 500 pounds, Marylebone to Fenchurch street 1000 pounds, Fenchurch street to Liverpool street 1500 pounds, Liverpool street to Kings X, 2000 pounds. This can be done only if you own both stations. If you finish your move on the first one, you may move to the next one for your next move. This may only be done if your last move was not also a train ride. If you go from liverpool street to Kings cross, you do not pass GO. 12) Finally, remember this is meant to be a fun game, not totally serious. Well, that's the game. Please send me any comments. I can be got on 0976 739 314, 01223 426 061 or simon@elmail.co.uk. Well, that's all from issue B of TRAIN, your favourite sub-sub-zine. Until next time Stretchy manages to produce an issue...bye bye. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris here again, just to round off the zine: the main thing wrong with my subzine at the moment in my eyes is that there are too few people playing games in it. I'll sort this out after my finals. I've got lots of games to try, including one I playtested at DipSoc last night, only for it to turn into a horrible mess half-way through turn one. Still, this is what playtests are for. I've been amazingly well for the last 5 weeks, which is a very pleasant surprise. Before that I was badly plagued with 4 ulcers on my lips and gums in the space of three weeks (one so far out of the way I went to a dentist to check that it wasn't anything worse). Not nice. However, not as not-nice as the news that my final Maths exams clash with RamsdenCon, so I won't be able to go. AAARRRGGGHHH! Now that DOES irritate me. Thanks for all your kind letters - they are much appreciated. I'm going to go sort-of-games-only for the next 2 or 3 issues so I can concentrate on Maths; I say sort-of as there are reprints and already-written articles I'm going to use too. But don't expect miracles, OK? Take care, everyone. Differential equations beckon... Chris
