It also suffered from the lack of interaction between players; a pro-PBM friend thought the idea might have been more interesting had two people been able to co-operate and add extra salt, eggs or sugar to people's meals, thus forcing them to serve spoiled foods, or change their recipes. Either way, I think there's a lot of scope for a good food postal game, and look forward to playing in one. Thank you all for playing. Welcome, one and all to the tenth issue of Games In Testing. In a break with tradition, you'll find all the games are at the front, at the suggestion of Nick Parish. I haven't received very many orders, not through a particular spate of NMRs, but because most of my games don't have many players. This is, I feel, quite a shame, particularly as so many of my games are set up for casual entry and an indefinite number of players, and I'd appreciate a lot more entrants in the all-reader games. Mark Stretch has said that he is happy to pass on any orders for my games if you send them to him, if you want to save a stamp, so long as you do it a couple of days before the deadline. So, what will you find inside? Games in progress aplenty, a few gamestarts so you can join new games at the same level as everybody else, discussion of the Settlers tournament at OxCon, margins (surely not!), monospaced print mostly in bold (you may have noticed how faintly Mark's photocopier reproduced King of the Hill last time) and this rather handsome font called Verdana. However, we shall start at the conclusion, for that's a very good place to start, of... Consequently, should my numbers ever come up on the National Lottery and I invite everyone I know to a slap-up banquet, JC will be in charge of the menu. Fantasy Chef was an interesting game to run (though the paperwork was a nightmare!), but probably rather a chore to play, the scoring being based on my arbitrary decisions as to how close dishes somehow were to one another.
