I aim to deal fairly, quickly and honestly with relevant correspondence that I am sent. 9. I aim to eliminate basic errors in grammar, spelling and game adjudications. 10. I aim not to fold Games In Testing, and not to go independent of One Man's Rubbish. Are there any other goals that I should aim for? Fat Controller: Simon Hornby, 77 Rowan Road, Merton SW16 5HZ | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ Welcome to yet another issue of the most irregular sub-subzine in the hobby. Another of the things that makes GIT the greatest subzine in the world. The big news this issue is that we are expecting to have a gamestart next issue, with the first game of Flobalopalopoly to see the light of day. The current contenders are: Mr. Chris Dickson, Mr. Phil Hannay, Mr. Andrew Huddleston, and Mr. James Pinnion. If you've changed your mind 'cos you think I am too unreliable as a GM, please let me or Chris know, otherwise I'll include you in next issue's gamestart. Other news this issue: I am moving again. To Oxfordshire (cries of OH NO! Run away). Should be moving on or around 15th January, just after I get back from a holiday in the USA. Going to a huge party in Mississippi for new year, then a con in Memphis (NOT a Dipcon though). I didn't do too well at Midcon, mainly due to only playing one round. Still, I survived on 2 centres, maintaining my record of never having been eliminated in a tournament game, or not to the best of my recollection anyway. I hate playing Russia, and I was pretty much doomed because of Andrew Greco failing to stop me taking Bud in autumn 02, so I was on 8, and thus everyone jumped on me! Anyway, work is busy, life is busy, and Chris has been nagging me for this for ages, and I am writing this on the absolute cusp of the deadline, so it's going to be short, as I haven't had lunch yet, and I need to put a cheque in the bank so I can do some Christmas shopping this weekend. Anyway, that's it for this issue of Train, so I'll see you all next time. Have a good Christmas, and don't eat or drink too much, or you'll end up feeling like I did last Thursday. /-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | TRAIN issue E. Fat Controller: Simon Hornby, 77 Rowan Road, Merton SW16 5HZ | \-----------------------------------------------------------------------------/ The Subber's Charter Maybe the concept of the this charter and the that charter was really a hangover from The Last Government, but I'm going to take half a page to set out my intentions for the next year; an early statement of my New Year's Resolution for GIT, if you will. We shall see how many of these goals I am able to keep to; should the answer be above zero, I modestly predict 1998 will be good. 1. I aim to re-read and review these goals before writing each issue of Games In Testing. 2. I aim to produce an issue of Games In Testing inside every issue of One Man's Rubbish; it will go out along with OMR rather than being sent to players and reprinted. 3. I aim to send half the text to Mark Stretch before the general OMR games deadline, so should mishap prevent the games from being printed, there will still be all the chat. 4. Each issue shall be between 8 and 16 pages long (unlike this 19-page monster...) 5. I aim to run twenty different games at some point during 1998. I aim to run at least three different games in which at least twenty different players take part. I aim to have at least 75% of the games that I run being unavailable elsewhere, as far as I am aware. 6. I aim to get a better word processor and printer to improve presentation, to eliminate the randomly-introduced blank lines beyond my control; every page will feature a margin around it. My aim is that each issue of the zine shall feature no more than three different typefaces, and there should not be more than two of them on the same page. 7. I aim to write at least two articles ўџ џџџџ РFMicrosoft Word 6.0 Document MSWordDocє9Вq
